Biography

Brant W. FowlerI love writing, singing, drawing, music, acting--anything creative.  I am very committed and dedicated to God.  I grew up in Lexington, KY, though I have lived in Arizona, South Carolina, and Georgia, where I was born. Currently I live in Winchester, KY, unfortunately.  I've never liked Kentucky since the day I set foot here.  Nothing personal, I just never really fit in. I've always dreamed of living in California.  Not just because of my aspirations, but because it just feels right.  It's also where I feel I'm called to go eventually.

I was born on March 21st, 1977, the first day of Spring that year.  My first love, as mentioned above, is God.  Second to God is my family, then my friends.  Then comes my passions, the creative avenues I have been blessed with talent for.

I have read and enjoyed comics since I was a kid, and have collected them since I was 13.  I really enjoyed Crossgen comics, Spider-Man and G.I.Joe.  There are several well written and well drawn comics I currently am reading.  If it doesn't have both good art and good writing then I don't care for it really.  Both Marvel and DC are putting out quality stuff these days, but I also love the smaller publishers as evidenced by one of my weekly columns.

My dream is to eventually publish comics with biblical themes and based on Spiritual warfare that will help get kids to read about God without having to read about God and without being overly preachy.  There are other books out there with a similar goal, but what I want to do is a little different than others I've come across.  You'll hear more about that when it's ready.

I also aspire to record CDs as well as write novels.  I would love to write a novel based on spiritual warfare, have it converted to both a comic and movie, and act in the movie while incorporating my own music.  That's the plan anyway. A lofty goal for sure, but hey, anything's possible, right?

I am trying to succeed as both a comic writer and letterer at the moment, but I still dabble in the art side of it when I can.  I am looking to incorporate my talents in a work form so I can be one of the few people in the world that actually get to do what they love for a living.

I have done some light web design, this site being one of my projects, but it's not something I'm yet skilled enough to make a career out of.

I also aspire to preach and teach the Word of God.  This is something I've been sidetracked on for several years now for various reasons.  Currently I'm without a church after years of struggling with some issues that were never resolved.  It's a long story and not something I'll talk about publicly or for the most part privately.  It's between me and God and I know I've followed His will in my decisions.

Some may question how my desires and those of God can intermingle without compromising.  Well, it would be very easy to compromise, but I am a firm believer there is a way to succeed in your dreams that will also edify God's Kingdom.  I know there are people out there who don't agree with my methods or way of thinking, but I really don't care.  I know where I'm headed and what I'm called to do, and I'll do it whether anyone supports me or not.  But you know, your true friends make themselves known when the chips are down, and this past year has been very telling.

And that's pretty much all me.  Of course there are many facets of me, but I don't think a single page bio could sum my being up adequately.  You can get to know me better on my blog and my myspace page.  The blog I update daily and the myspace page tells about my favorite things and a little more about me, but I mainly use it to network and make announcements on, and to keep in touch with people I don't get to otherwise.

But the best way to get to know anyone is in person.  If life should give us that opportunity I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you as well.  But until such a time comes, you can always find me somewhere in cyberspace.
